Tennis Elbow Symptoms

  • Tennis elbow symptoms also known as lateral epicondylitis, is condiotin in which the tendons part of the elbow becomes inflammation or tearing, common people who play tennis, golf, bowling, badminton…

  • Patients with Tennis Elbow are in pain, aches and effect to health and moving of arm.
  • If we do not have treatment and apply by best way, it can cause complications.

Causes of Tennis elbow pain

  • Injury of Sports: By push too strong, accident….which effects to muscles, tendons, cartilages, ligament of part of forearm
  • When moving too much, repeat the same movement which cause the stress in muscles of elbow, cause injury.
  • Not do carefully exercise before playing
  • Using a racquet with too large handle size, improper playing technique, too tight racquet net or heavy tennis ball weight, .
  • The unreasonable of resting and eating after each time playing sports which lead to the muscles to become exhausted, tired, and psychologically, therefore the patient is always in tension and discomfort.
  • Elbow arthritis, elbow synovitis, elbow injuries (such as sprains, muscle sprain, dislocations, fractures, etc.), pinched nerves which can be caused by bone, joint conditions.

Signs and symptoms

  • Pain on the outer part of the elbow. Pain happens continuous by the movement of wrist. Patient will feel difficult in keeping and gripping. Besides, we also feel difficult in sleeping. When clinical examination we will feel pain in tendon.
  • There are many patients have inflammation in muscles and tendons. Movement of elbow is normal but when gripping lead to pain.

To prevent tennis – elbow syndrome and decrease the complications when play tennis, golf, badminton…We should pay attention:

  • Stop playing sports when to symptoms are cured. Besides, we should do lightly in daily activities.
  • If pain is too much, patient can apply ice for 10-15 minutes to reduce aches, can be done 4-5 times per day, each time should be about 2 hours to bring the best effect, and need to be hand rested.
  • Do not massage by yourself with any traditional medicine, because it can make condition can be more serious and difficult in treating.
